Dear All,
With the escalating or perhaps phenomenal hike(sounds more proper) in the PET resins prices, I am sure most manufacturers are now faced with the tough challenge of maintaining the profit margin and at the same time passing on the price increase to their customers.
In this "crisis," we have adopted certain measures to ensure our survival.
1. Redesign of preforms to lighter weight.
2. Lower IV material for PET bottles especially for the edible oil products.
3. Repelletizing our crushed waste to be mixed with the normal IV 0.8 - 0.82 resins.
I understand these are all drastic mesures, but taken into consideration that this is a soft market era, any price hike by a mere 5% to 10% would invite a rain of blows from the customers. As the products are mainly for the edible oil industry, they are hyper sensitive even to the slightest ONE CENT increase. Sad, but true. Any feedback and comments would be most welcomed.
