For husky/Kraussmaffie type m/c where there is a robo cooling the hold time will be 1.5t (where t is the wall thickness of the preform.)and cooling time will be t2/4 (square of t) and in case of without robo cooling it will be t2.Chiller temp. has also a greater role to play.
Cushion is also an important parameter for effective holding and melt residence time which should be in range of 15mm.

Dear Sir,
In PET injection molding, rate of Injection around 10 to 12gms/sec
is maintained. It is the hold time and cooling time that contribute to cycle time. So how these parameters are decided in relation to Wall thickness of Preform being processed. Also how best the transition position is decided so that hold becomes effective.
Thanking you very much,
yours truly,
Vijay
