Well preforms stuck to core/punch due to shrinkage and this fact is utilised to draw out the preform from the cavity.

but if the preforms are sticking too tight to the core then that means that the either your hold settings need to be adjusted.

secondly the draft angle of the core should be engough to eject the product of the core.

Third, the surface finish of the core. If the core is mirror finished then it will give you a hard time to eject the core(eve if you have a good draft angle). The surface finish of the core should be sand blasted of vapour honed. but after a few million cycles the finish will get more finer/smoother.

So if your preforms get stuck on the core then wait till they solidify completely (1 -2 min of mould open).
Then Spray a silicon mould release on the preform and try to hit the preform gate area with a brass hammer( try to hit straight to avoid any damage)
Wear eye and face protection coz they break and fly out in all direction like glass.

Friends, Need advice as to how to overcome the problem of preforms getting stuck to the punch side afterthe mould opens. It does not happen very frequently but sometimes. Would also like to know the method of removing these preforms from the punch.
Thanks & Regards.
