My, friend:

If, you are in the reheat and blow business, than you need to face the fact: that is, IR lamps are tends to radiate a different frequency by aging. It is quite simple to explain by physics. Please contact me by e-mail. Again, the solution is use heat rods no longer than 6 months.

Hemant,

The preform manufacturing conditions are unlikely to affect whether you require more energy to blow them. If you have confirmed that all the heaters on the blower are working at their rated capacity, then I would suggest looking at the following.
-Have you changed the way you store preforms? For instance their location or the length of time.
-What resin do you use, is it a grade specifically designed for improved heat uptake, such as CB12 or Laser Plus?
-If it is then the manufacturer may have changed the formulation they use, may have changed the raw materials, may be suffering quality problems or may have changed manufacturing location.
-Look for a change in the colour of production in clear from 6 months ago versus what you are making today, you will need a spectrophotometer capable of measuring in transmission to do this properly. If todays samples are lighter than those from 6 months ago, then the formulation.
-Do you see the problem when running coloured preforms, especially ambers or dark greens, these often contain strong infra red absorbing pigments which often assist blowing and reduce energy need?

Hope this helps.

Mark.

We started facing the problem of high heat requirement for blowing.
We are using the same resin since last six months and we never faced problem. But since last month we have started facing this problem. There is no change in the preform physically and processing also.
Our blowers have put additional heaters and blown bottles coming out excellent.
PLEASE SUGGEST WHETHER IT IS A PROBLEM WITH PREFORM PROCESSING OR RESIN PROBLEM.
