Pearlescense in Bottle Walls
Also referred to as stress-whitening, this defect shows up as whitish rings not unlike pearls, hence the name. They are actually micro-cracks in the PET molecule structure. They’re most always on the inside of the bottle and show as a milky coating.
Causes:
1. Preforms are over-stretched during blowing. They are either too cold too thin. Lamps pointing at the pearlescent part(s) may be at too high a setting.
2. If pearlescense happens randomly performs with a lower initial temperature may have become mixed with the warmer ones for which the process was adjusted.

we have a similar type of problem , when we run 500ml or 750 ml we produce a good bottle however with the 2 litre bottle on the same machine we struggle , the bottle fills the cavity well but always has silver shoulders or silver corners the shape of the bottle is rectangular , we have tried various weights of preforms from 54 to 48 grams but we have the same results , however the 35 grams size blows perfectly but is very light and therefore weak and not popular with our customers , can anyone help

we use a blowmoulder to blow 500ml and 2L bottles. whenever we blow 500ml botltes we get a perfect bottle, but when we blow 2L bottles we experience pearlesance.
the pearlesance moves fromt the neck of the bottle to the base of the bottle.
any suggestions to eliminate this pearlesance.
