Hi,
I just want to ask, What is the difference between PE Plastic and PET Plastic?
|
hie
1.when hot filling can PET satnd the tempereture of up to 100degrees?
2.what knd of materials is used to manufacture PE and does it not have any long term effects to he comsumer?

PET preforms will be re-heated up to 110°C, so you have lower energy costs in a 2-stage process. The PET material is clear and is a good absorber for infrared radiation (re-heating is done with infrared heater lamps).
Another reason is that the PET material has a so called self regulated wall thickness effect. When the material is blown (starts with a bubble) the thin material becomes strengthen at ~0,25mm and "borrows" material from thicker areas during blowing, which leads to a smooth wall thickness distribution.
Other materials do not have this characteristic so that blowing becomes much more difficult (bottle bursts during blowing, bad material distrbution and low mechanical properties).

PET is popular for water because it dosen't affect taste and the crystal clear plastic makes the water look good.
PET is not a good material for extrusion blow moulding as it has the wrong properties when molten.
It is easier to make pre-forms and then stretch the pre-form to the final shape. This semi-hot stretching also makes a stronger bottle as the long chains of the polymers are bi-axially stretched which increases stength.
You can of course buy water in gallon containers in many supermarkets.

hi
1. I would like to know why for storing mineral water only PET bottles use?
2.why we make preform from pet, but for making pe bottle we don't make preform?
3.also i would like to know other differences between pe and pet bottles.
best wishes
